Police crackdown on vandals, recover 10 manhole covers in FCT



Following the ongoing crackdown on vandals, the operatives of the FCT Police Command have again recovered 10 manhole covers allegedly stolen by some vandals in Abuja.

FCT police commissioner, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, who made this known to newsmen on Saturday, said the latest recovery was made at Dei -Dei area last Thursday, where the operatives found the stolen manholes inside a pit.

He said the discovery was made possible through a tip-off from a n informant, reaffirming the critical role of public cooperation in crime-fighting efforts.

Disu, while issuing a warning to the vandals and those complicit in the illicit trade of stolen public property, reaffirmed the command’s unwavering commitment to eradicating infrastructure theft and dismantling criminal networks operating within the FCT.

He called on the residents to always report any suspicious activities through the command’s emergency numbers via 08032003913, 08028940883 and 07057337653.
